Try using essential oils with a diffuser from the best, Young Living! www.youngliving.com

Grow some peppermint in a decorative basket lined with plastic. When you want a delicious aroma of mint, brush against the leaves. This is great for the bathroom as well.

Bake an apple with cinnamon; smells terrific!

Use flowers that are either cut, potted or dried such as lilies, roses, lavender, gardenia or jasmine. There are lots of others. Try using eucalyptus leaves, herbs, mint, rosemary, basil, lemongrass, etc. There are some that have special undertones like pineapple, chocolate, etc. Also, you could use vanilla or other spices, particularly cinnamon.

Something else you can try is to take cotton balls and soak them in orange water, rosewater, vanilla, etc. Then put them on a warm spot or make pot pouri infusing dried wood, shavings, or even colored paper with these waters or waters fragranced with some of these other suggestions.

Another option is to use mulling spices in a pot on the stove. You can also buy natural fragrance oils called “essential oils.”  Fragrance oils are usually chemicals. Whole Foods has essential oils. You can also make candles, soaps and other things and add the essential oils.

I like to use flowers or citrus fruit (lemons, oranges). Sometimes I’m in the mood for mulling spices, cloves lightly baked or I might just bake some cookies!

You may want to contact Marie Gale who owns Chandler’s Soaps in Oregon. She has extensively researched natural essential oils. You can contact her at www.chandlerssoaps.com. Hope this helps!
